About Gary

I have deep roots, and a deep love for Rock Hill. I consider it an honor and privilege to serve the people of District 46. I am a lifelong resident of Rock Hill, South Carolina. Born May 29, 1966. I graduated from Winthrop University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business. I married MaryRuth Dobson in 1993, and we have three children. Our oldest daughter, Mallory, is almost 13. SarahKate is 10, and our son, Dozier, is 5.

I was first elected to represent House District 46 in November 1992. I own a small private car dealership, Carolina Motorworks.

Other community involvement includes:

Delegate Representative to the State Convention, 1987, 1991, 1993, 1998, 2000, 2002, 2004. Involvement with the Chamber of Commerce, and Kiwanis International. Supporter of the South Carolina Chapter of the National Federation of the Blind, and the Crisis Pregnancy Center of Rock Hill. Distinguished Service Award
recipient. Awarded Who’s Who in the South and Southwest; member
of Westminster Presbyterian Church. Previous service in the House
